Temptu Brand is a powerful new force in the UK Beauty market.
Formed by the renowned chemist, Dr Samuel Zuckerman in New
York in the mid 70's, Temptu has been at the forefront of
innovation and creativity.
Dr. Samuel Zuckerman, king of chemistry, created Origins
for Estee Lauder, put the stripe in Stripe toothpaste, colored
the Chicago River green for the film "The Fugitive,"
became a huge developer of color for cosmetics, foods and
drugs and last, but not ever least, invented the Temptu tattoo.
King Dr. Samuel Zuckerman was approached by a group of men
seeking to develop a waterproof, sweatproof, skin-safe body
make-up. These men, it was discovered, were magicians of the
movies, otherwise known as make-up artists, and were to begin
working on a film called "TATTOO." Not wanting to
spend five hours a day creating body tattoos for each character,
as Rob Seiger had to endure in "The Illustrated Man,"
they wisely sought the King's aid. Thus with hard work, great
intellect and much determination the formula for Temptu tattoos
was born.
In its debut use, King Dr. Zuckerman's formula was painted
into a outline placed on the skin using a wet ink tattoo transfer,
much like when a real tattoo transfer is applied. The result
was an extremely realistic, sweat and water resistant, temporary
tattoo that held up under the most intense conditions, including
the torrid love scenes between Bruce Dern and co-star Maude
Adams.
King Dr. Sam, continuing his path of greatness, kept inventing
and creating, and before long had invented a non-toxic cosmetic
ink which could be printed onto a piece of specially treated
tissue paper. This meant that the outline, which before had
served only as a guide for the artist to paint over, was now
a part of the actual tattoo, cutting application time in half.
At this time, King Sam's son, Prince Roy, realized that this
unique product/process had great potential in the entertainment
and consumer lands. However, as luck would have it, it was
the early 80's (1980's that is) and "tattoos" were
still considered heathen. After a series of polite rejections
from cosmetic, jean, and toy companies, the Kingdom of Temptu
Marketing was formed to conquer the world.
Believing in his product and kingdom, Prince Roy forged ahead,
as determined as his father was. He eventually arrived at
Bloomingdale's cosmetic department for a brief stint, which
proved to be the bridge into many other magical kingdoms.
Temptus began to be spotted as the main attractions at discos,
including Studio 54, major theme parks, like Six Flag's Great
Adventure, and fashion shows, such as Anna Sui, Galliano,
& Gaultier. Temptu continued to be seen more and more
in films, television, Broadway plays, rock videos; the list
goes on and on.
Over the years the kingdom of Temptu has grown and expanded,
amassing an impressive client list which includes the likes
of Robert DeNiro, Sean Penn, Kathy Bates, Naomi Cambell, Johnny
Depp, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCapprio, Absolut, Swatch,
Disney, Guinness, Bacardi, People Magazine, George, "Rent,"
"Miss Saigon," "Cabaret," and many others
from all walks of life. |
